The previous inguinal hernoiplasty, such as Bassini, McVay, Halsted and newest laparoscopic hernioplasty had some problems which were complications following geeneralized anesthesia, prolonged admission days, moderate recorvery time caused by
post-operative pain and risk of recurrence Especially, laparoscopic hernioplasty required skillful technique for surgeons.
To resolve these disadvantage, we performed 'Tension-free' inguinal hernioplasty using polypropylene mesh in fifty patients from November, 1993 through May, 1995 and compared these patients with the another pationts taken by previous other
inguinal
hernioplasty.
@ES The result were as follows;
@EN 1) There was no difference for age, sex ratio, location and type of hernia.
2) 'Tension-free' inguinal hernioplasty had benefits to shorten the operation time, especially when taken with local anesthesia, and this took the operation time as three times shorter than other hernioplasty.
3) Under the local anesthesia, 'Tension-free' inguinal hernioplasty could prevent complication of general anesthesia and is very safe for the patients with combined diseases.
4) 'Tension-free' inguinal hernioplasty had less post operative pain, reduce the admission day ad enable these patients to return rapidly their social life.
